Business Handstamp. It is stated that the business overprint was probably
produced by the Treasurer or the Provincial Governor of Tacloban,
Leyte. Generally fine with good perfs. Scarce stamp. |

Proof. Very fresh overall condition. This was one of the proofs looted from
the vault of the manila Central Post Office during the battle for the

wide selvedge compared to printed sheets. All with horizontal folds between
stamps. NB1 with light printing on two right stamps. Tone spots on all
values. Very seldom offered, moreso in large

a very scarce set and much sought after. |

N1, N3 Two Unaddressed Covers. First cover being the very
scarce First Day Cover tied with Manila 4 Mar 1942 slogan cancels.
Interestingly, the 16c stamp is affixed on cover bottom (upside down) and
received a second first day cover slogan cancel. Very unusual combination.
Second cover postmarked Manila 4 Mar 1943 (one year later) commemorating one
year anniversary of the Re-Opening of the Postal Service. Purple Boxed Manila
Censors (Garrett IA1 and IA2). Second cover reduced in length with fold over
on reverse. Minor foxing noted for accuracy. Interesting combination with
different Censor types. |
